Seahorse Altered Match Box.

This month for Altered Eclectics I altered a small MDF matchbox, these are readily available in different sizes from Fernli Designs,

After gluing the matcbox together and leaving it to dry over night, I gave it a coat of gesso. The inside of the drawer I paint in pale blue.
Using card that I coloured with distress inks, I stamped it with a nautical image...then I cut it to fit all sides of the box and the front and back of the drawers.

I sprayed the match box with a gloss sealer, added the knob to the drawer.
Then I added the seahorse, some drift wood, mesh and shells and quote and again sprayed the box again with the gloss sealer.
The sealer also brightened up the glass and shells and pebbles that went in to the drawer...I was really pleased with the effect...

I am entering my match box in to the challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu their theme this month is Seaside or Summer Colours.

You still have the ability to amaze me with your art sweetie. Also the ability to make the most of such a small space. Love everything about your seaside theme and the seahorse is so very cute.

Thank you for sharing with us over at Eclectic Ellapu this month and hope to see you again in future challenges.
