Greyscale Postcard

Over at Sunday Postcard Art there is a new theme, Greyscale.

You would think that Greyscale was an easy theme to master, in fact I didn't think it was. I used mainly stamping so having no grey inks, I had to lighten off the black ink by dabbing my stamps on tissue before stamping on my postcard. Took me a couple of attempts to get the different levels of grey.

The blank postcard was coloured by using black distress ink and blending brushes, again taking care not to go too dark, as I needed it a lighter shade so the stamping would show up.

The 4 ladies are from Tim Holtz paper dolls, love them.
Postcards can be any medium, but must be 4"x6".

Hot Colours...

Hello Everyone, time again for another challenge over at Tag Tuesday and the theme this time around was chosen by teamie Pinky.

So think reds, oranges, yellows and in my case Hot Pink!

My tag is made from water colour paper, very thick. I used distress inks for the background and a bubble stamp, then I added red dots in some of the bubbles. I also added some glossy accents to some of the  bubbles, but the photo hasn't picked them all up, just a few near the top right are showing.

I've added an extra hot colour, hot pink for the sentiment.

Do pop over and join in with the challenge, remember your tag can be any medium, but must be in the form of a tag.

You can find us here at Tag Tuesday.

Bridal Bouquet...I tried!!!!

Morning All, well what a job I had, over at Sunday Postcard Art, Peggy chose the theme of Bridal Bouquets. Now I have never created anything related to weddings before, so this was a real challenge.lol.

Thanks to some backing papers that I stamped over, and a Tim Holtz paper dolls image of a bride & groom I managed well up until the "Bouquet "

This wasn't what I had in my minds eye for the bridal bouquet, pretty flowers trimmed to more or less fit, it just doesn't look right, even dotting around the flowers with some glossy accents didn't exactly make the bouquet "pop"

Sorry Peggy, my postcard is no match for your fabulous postcard, I did my best, lol.

The challenge is here at Sunday Postcard Art.

The theme is Circles and I created my tag using watercolour card, acrylic paints and stamps.

A slightly different grungy style for me, I love the effects on the background.

Bathing Beauties Postcard

Hi Everyone, I am late blogging my postcard for Sunday Postcard Art due to having heat stroke at the weekend, knocked me for six to be honest. The worst part is that I wasn't even in the sun as such, just the overwhelming heat, I had cool clothing on and was drinking plenty of water, I just can't tolerate it and it makes me feel quite ill for a day or so.

Anyway I am now on my way to adding my postcard to Sue's challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art.

Love this theme...here's my postcard.

I am hosting, so I chose the theme, anything to do with the sea counts, so long as it's a Tag, any size, any medium.

Owl Postcard

Happy Sunday Everyone, it's such a lovely day here today, sunny and set to get warmer, but for now being slightly cooler this early in the day suits me well.

So on to my Postcard for the challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art  The theme has been chosen by Mandy and it's Owls.

I love Owls and I am lucky to be able to hear them from across the farmland nearby, more so at night when the rest of the world is sleeping, crystal clear sounds.

Here is my postcard...a Tawny Owl.

An interesting fact....something I didn't know.

The 'too-wit too-woo' call often referred to as being the song of the generic owl, is that of the tawny owl. But it isn't the call of a single bird, but instead made by a male and female calling to each other. The female makes a 'too-wit' sound and the male answers with 'too-woo'!
