Christmas in July????

Well, Pinky has really, well almost, caught me out with her theme at Tag Tuesday..but lucky for me I have a couple of Christmas Stamps in the drawer where I keep my Artistic Outpost Stamps.
I rarely make cards so most of my christmas stash is stacked away in the cupboard under the stairs. I really must sort through them one day..but not today though, lol.
So Christmas is the theme over at Tag Tuesday...any shape or style of tag and any medium you choose, so long as its a Tag.

My tag was die cut from some spare off cuts of paint splodged art paper, not that you can see much of it as I overlaid that with corrugated card that I gessoed. The image was stamped on spare card which I then added colour to, then layered the image up with bits of materials from my stash.
Do pop along and visit us if you can..we love to see your creations and of course leave some love on your blog...x

Another "Sea" Tag

Good Morning from a not so sunny place in Devon, in the UK..still warm, but dull, the sun desperately trying to shine.
I was creating something for another blog where I am on the design team and my mind wandered off course for a while and I ended up making another Sea Tag for Tag Tuesday.

This sweet stamp is by Artistic Outpost/Our Daily Bread Designs and I have had it a while now.
How many of us remember listening the the "Sea" through the shells as a child...I know I do.
Hope you can find time to join us over at Tag Tuesday..there is still a week left, so plenty of time to join in.

The Sea

Hello Everyone...due to a  recent bereavement I've not been blogging regularly, but now I am doing my best to keep crafting more regularly..time, it all takes time doesn't it.
So here is what I have bought for you today...my Sea themed tags for Tag Tuesday.
I love this theme, there is so much scope to create.
I am very fortunate to live close to the sea and whether it's calm or rough I do get a calmness from it, in the rough weather you can actually taste the saltiness from the sea..I love it.
My background of my first tag was created using distress inks using brushes.
The images are stamped from stamps by Crafty Individuals.

I used some stickles across the water and the area around the lady's legs to add sparkle to the water.

My 2nd tag was created using oxide inks on the background, them using this fab stamp from Impression Obsession. I stamped the shells on some off cut card from the card I  made the tag from, then added stickles to give the shells highlights.

I hope you will come and join us here at TAG TUESDAY with this fortnights challenge..I shall look forward to seeing you and visiting your blogs....x

"Dance"

I can't believe how quickly the last couple of weeks have gone by. I seem to be constantly busy doing nothing..crazy or what.
The challenge over at Tag Tuesday still has a few days left to run and the theme is "Put a Sentiment on it"
I had already made my Tag for this challenge, being on the design team, we know the  themes in advance, so I was able to get ahead.
I so love this little girl dancing, so decided to use her on my Tag.

I used oxide inks for the background and then stamped some images before adding the girl. Finally adding a hand written quote.

A Feather in my Hat.

I couldn't sleep, so thought I would come over to blogger and write a post.
Since I last blogged I have sadly lost my beautiful daughter. She had been staying with me, but unfortunately had to return to hospital.
I have to say I've not had much on my mind but sadness..but Sharron, my daughter, knew how much I love to craft and she certainly wouldn't want me to give it up.
This is her with her grandson, taken a couple of months ago.

This is a Tag I made before my daughter passed away, for the challenge over at Tag Tuesday. I had got ahead of myself, but missed the last couple of challenges.

I used a stencil, stamps and inks to create the background then used a freebie stamp that I had ages ago from the Craft Stamper magazine..it's actually one of my favourite freebie stamps.
I have used 2 real feathers for the ladies hat.

Feathers is the theme ( chosen by teamie Wendy ) for the current challenge, which you can find HERE

I will try and pop in whenever I can, but can't guarantee it will be on a regular basis just yet...xx

In the Pink....

It's been a while since I was last here posting on my blog. Due to my daughter being so poorly and spending 3 months in 4 different hospitals, I finally got the hospital to discharge her to me, rather than her going home on her own. What with Covid-19 keeping us all on lock down, being here I can give her the care she needs. As a result though I've not been able to craft, hopefully I will get more time soon and get back in the swing of things again.
My project for More Mixed Media was made several weeks ago...the theme is "Pink", as always it is anything goes, but there is a colour option.
I hope you can join in with the challenge.

My pages were built up using scraps of paper, gesso and some napkins and texture paste.

I used a wash of white acrylic paint and daubed around the images of the flowers and butterflies to soften the edges.

To finish I added the sentiment and the images of the children.
Please do pop over and join in with this months challenge, you can find it here at

Romantic Weekend.

More Mixed Media have just launched this months challenge. The theme as always is Anything Goes, so long as it's mixed media ..and it also has the option of a colour twist.
The colour twist for March if GREEN.
I love the colour green, there are so many shades of it, it also reminds me that Spring is on it's way.
My Dt project this month is an altered book. By gluing pages together and covering them with gesso, they are ready for anything to be thrown on them.

click on image to enlarge it.

For these pages I collaged some scraps of paper then went over with acrylic paints, dried with my heat tool, then I applied gesso across the pages.
After the gesso was completely dry I added the fab images from a couple of paper napkins.

I applied green through a stencil and then added the stamps and sentiment before sealing the pages with modge podge

The lovely couple were then added to finish the page.
I hope you can pop over and join us in our challenge.
