Pets...

Tag Tuesday's Challenge  theme this time around is "Pets" and was chosen by our lovely boss lady Valerie.

Do pop over and check our her tag...and hopefully you will find time to join in with the challenge.

This is my Tag...

I inked the tag before adding a selection of stamped images.
The boy and his dog I stamped separately along with the number on to some spare card, coloured, cut and added to the tag.
I added the cord then the images...so happy with the way the tag has turned out as I seriously thought the background would be to dark.
Please do pop over and visit us over at Tag Tuesday we would love to see you ...x

Texture is the theme

Wendy over at Tag Tuesday  has chosen Texture as her theme for the current challenge.

I created my tag using oxide inks and different stamps for the background.

To create the texture I mixed some Cosmic Shimmer mica powder with a little texture paste, unfortunately the end colour was a bit too dark for me. What should, or so I thought, would be a light greeny gold turned out very dark, lol.

I decided that swiping over the tag with gesso would calm the dark green down, well as you can see it did lighten it a bit.
I stamped the figures and sentiment and added them to my tag.
Hope you find time to pop over to the blog and join us in the current challenge.

Recycled Parts

For my design team project this month for More Mixed Media, I recycled  a couple of  pieces from my old carriage clock. I've had it for about 12 years and it finally gave up the ghost, lol.

I used the metal base and painted it black, I found a circle of MDF which I painted green.

I managed to find a large-ish vintage cotton reel in my stash and painted that black...the middle section I added some hessian and black lace and a little bow.

To decorate the top of my cotton reel I first stamped the image of this cute little girl with her butterfly wings, then shaded her in.
I made a little stand, so she would stay upright, then glued her in place.
I then added bits and bobs from my stash, hessian, green stringy type fabric, no idea what it is called. I added a couple of twigs, flowers, along with a couple of green mesh cones I made that I popped a couple of pearl beads in. At the back I added some pieces black ostrich feather, finishing off with the pretty gold butterfly.

With the glass dome off.

Closer look at the top of the cotton reel.

I do hope my project has inspired you to join in with our challenge over at More Mixed Media
Always mixed media but with a colour option...a prize for the Winner too.

Autumnal again...

It just so happens that I have a few tree stamps, so I got them all out and would you believe I used a tree stamp and a script stamp that was a freebie with a craft magazine. Not bought by me either, a friend gave me a complete set as she had 2 sets with her magazine.lol.

Another challenge over at Tag Tuesday..Trees is the theme was chosen by Pinky, very apt for this time of the year. I couldn't resist using shades of autumn on my tag.

The background I created using inks and brushes then stamped using the masking method.
I dotted the branches with oranges, yellow and a little green, then added the sentiment.

Very Autumnal

Well here we are, in to October already. Beautiful colours everywhere with the trees and shrubs changing, to me it's such a lovely time of the year. Suits me too now the weather is cooler.

Time again for another challenge over at More Mixed Media

As always it is anything goes, but with the option of using the colour orange in your project.

For my design team project this time I have gone back to my journal. I have some lovely paper napkins that have lush leaves printed on them and I thought they would be perfect for the orange option.

I gessoed the blank pages then added some scraps of paper, swipe over with a thin layer of gesso again. I left it to dry completely overnight.
Using a selection of stamps I added more to the background and then swiped orange acrylic paint over the page using  dry brush, again I left it a while to completely dry before adding my paper napkins leaves.
I actually left the pages alone for a few days as I had lost my mojo and didn't want to mess up a great background.

So here I am, already to add to my pages...
I remembered I had a rubber stamp that was part of a brick wall, so I used that for the ladies to sit on, worked out quite well, especially after I coloured the bricks.

On to my 2nd page, again I used the brick stamp, more randomly this time, trying to make it look like the wall was damaged, not sure if I achieved that very well, but I was reluctant at this stage to do to much incase I messed it all up.
I added the young lad walking his dog.
I added shading around the people to give them a bit of shadow, first time I have ever done that and I am pleased with the effect
Finally on both pages I added a few words then flicked over both pages with some white acrylic paint.
I also used a black water colour pencil randomly around the edges of the pages and smudged them with a damp finger.
Yes, I love the pages, very autumnal and not to overwhelming with the orange colour.
I hope you can find time this month to join in with our challenge, there is a prize on offer of some papers of your choice, detail over on the challenge blog, which you can find here at

I would like to enter my journal pages to these great challenges over at

Book Print

I was in a bit of a panic last week, my own fault because I had forgotten my new password to get in to my laptop...I left the laptop sitting there for a few days in the hope that I would remember, I didn't so off to the engineer it went. This is what happens when I try and multi task, when my computer suggests that I change my password, I should not have been on the phone while doing it!

There's a new challenge today over at Tag Tuesday and it was my turn to choose the theme.

Book Print, there is so much you can do with it, I love using it.

I have used a large tag and layered it with scraps book paper and some pieces of a napkin. and a paper butterfly cut from scraps.
I then swiped the whole tag with gesso and wiped some areas back with a baby wipe.
After drying I added some stamping, then the mother,or grandmother with her little boy and added the sentiment

I used an offcut of mountboard for this tag..again layering the tag with torn book paper. I then gessoed the tag taking some back off with a wipe.
Once dry I covered the tag with the gorgeous flowery paper napkin.
To finish I added distress ink to the edges of the tag and some netting and garden string.
I hope you can find time and come along to TAG TUESDAY and join in with our challenge.

On the Farm

Happy sunday everyone...I am trying to get up to date with projects and visiting blogs today and I am failing miserabley.

I have only locked myself out of my laptop...all my craft photos I can't access, so annoying. I just cannot remember my password, so I hope when I ring the computer engineer tomorrow he will be able to help.

I am using Chrome Book and it's nowhere near as good as my laptop. My photos look dull and just to upload and edit them I had to add an app. Adding my signature to my work took ages because I had to use a different set up, kind of 3 steps forward but 6 back. Going to take me a while to get things as I want them.

So here is my little set of Tags for Valerie's theme over at Tag Tuesday...her theme had me stuck for a while, but I managed to download and print these lovely images.

I hope you can pop over and join in with our challenge at
