Send in the Clowns

Not every one's cup of tea...but I have always loved clowns, met a few in my time and not all belonged to the circus, lol.
This is my Tag for the current challenge over at Tagalong....the backing paper is from my stash, then that was stamped with a collage style circus stamp by Artistic Outpost. The clown images are just fabulous and were all free from Rian.....not sure if they are actually available now,as I printed these quite a long time ago. Her designs are pretty amazing.
So I hope you like my Tag...you can find the challenge here at Tagalong

Shabby Chic Heart

Just thought I'd share my design team make for CraftyHands with you....

Love the shape of this heart, which I gessoed prior to covering in the fabby Graphic 45 papers. The images on the front I actually cut from some scraps I had left from another project,so that worked out perfectly in keeping with the theme. I added strips of the pearly lace and then added the roses with a couple of stick pins.
CraftyHands has a fabby prize for their winner of this challenge, why not pop over for a look and maybe enter. The theme is Shabby Chic and it can be found HERE

Guess who made a card?....

Well, I've not made one of these in a while,lol.....a card!
The new challenge has been set over at Rhedd and Rosies and the theme is "Trees/Wood"...such a great theme and the perfect excuse to use this rather large stamp,by Stampendous.
I've kept the colour palette simple to show the stamp off to it's best advantage, pleased that I did as it really does stand out.
Do pop over and have a look at the challenge, there's a fabulous prize on offer for the winner of the challenge...

Puzzle Piece Inchies.

Just having a coffee break in between crafting and thought I would share my "Inchies" with you all.

I am in a Dutch group for Inchie swaps on Facebbok and the theme this time around was to use actual puzzle pieces on our Inchies, each one must be decorated.
So I set to and found an old puzzle in my garage and selected a few pieces that wouldn't protrude too much over the actual inchie.
To decorate I used some scraps of card that I'd used to play with my glimmers mists and covered the front and backs of the inchie.
The puzzle pieces were gessoed several times to cover their original image and then once dry I rubbed them over in distress ink.
Using sections of stamps,I then added images to the puzzle pieces, some of which I then coloured in.
Once completely I decided to add glossy accents and crackle glossy accents to the puzzle pieces for a nicer effect, finally adding one or two pearls and gems.

Cheap & Cheerful Mixed Media Plaque

Well the lovely lady Lou from Fernli Designs has set a challenge in the UK&Ireland Craft Swap group...to make a cheap and cheerful Mixed Media Plaque....using a piece of corrugated cardboard measuring 8"x 8". It has to contain a verse/quote or photo. So, this is my mixed media plaque, made so I can hang it rather than have it on a stand....not sure how long I will get to keep it as my daughter has seen it already, lol.

I really had so much fun making this, played around a bit with the colour palette, unfortunately the photo dosen't do this piece justice as you can't see the beautiful shimmer.
Lots of odds and ends from my stash, the wooden pieces, which were gessoed several times before spraying are from Fernli Designs.
I just could not resist adding this gorgeous vintage photo of the little girl, she is just adorable.
I am entering this in to the challenge over at Altered Eclectics

An Old Tag

Well, it's that time again...another new challenge has been set over at Rhedd & Rosies and I really enjoyed creating my design team piece.

The theme is Aged & Distress, so I set to and made this tag with some French labels. I used the Tim Holtz distress tool for the edges of the labels, but used some fine sandpaper for the main Tag and the creases and folds on the labels, to age them further I added some distress ink. I found a really old strip of leather which was perfect for tying everything together.
You can find this challenge here...http://rheddandrosies.blogspot.co.uk/.....you will also find there the Winner of the Blogversary Candy.

Configuration House Design Team Creation.

Well, that's February gone for this year, I know we were a few days short compared to other months, but it still went by so quickly...and now here we are in to March, hopefully creeping closer to Spring and some drier weather.
The March Challenge over on my Altered Art Blog is now under way and for my design team piece I altered a configuration house....

I had so much fun with this piece and I have used so many "little bits" that belonged to my mother,so it's really quite special. I had a go at using some crackle glaze to give the house a weathered look.

There is a fabulous prize for the winner of the March Challenge, well worth entering the challenge for...this Bird House Style Money Box  measures 23cms x 14cms  ( 9" x 5.5" ) so a lovely size to work with and it comes ready to decorate.

You can find the challenge here... Rhedd's Creative Spirit....hope to see you there.
