Lock & Key....

Sadly I've not been doing much blogging recently..I have a very painful knee so sitting or standing for long periods is a big no no...not to mention very uncomfortable.
So for now I am just blogging as and when I create my design team projects or enter a challenge.
Tag Tuesday challenge has another week left to run...the theme was chosen by teamie Wendy and she chose "Locks & Keys"
So here is my Tag....

I used backing paper on top of a brown tag..then I made a topper using corrugated card that I inked with Marmalade distress ink.
I added some fabric and wired a key to the topper and the adhered the topper to the tag.
To finish I added the lock and stamped the words Key & Lock.
Do pop over and join in with the challenge..would be lovely to see you there...

Baby Love...

There is such a sweet theme this fortnight over at Tag Tuesday....."Baby Love"
I wasn't quite sure how I would create my Tag as all I had in my head was the song "Baby Love" by the "Supremes"...so I started sorting through some stash while humming that song.
I managed to find a lovely vintage image to use....

I added backing paper to my tag and then stamped the words..The images was then added and then the trimmings....
If you love making Tags and fancy a challenge do pop over and join us. We are here at Tag Tuesday

Pretty little Tag

For all of you that enjoy Mixed Media, why not pop over and join in with our challenge this month at More Mixed Media.
The theme as always is Anything Goes, but with an Optional Twist...and the twist is "PINK"
My design team project is this mixed media tag...

I covered my tag is backing paper..loved this as it had  a peeling paint affect ..and it had pink in it. The script for the background was added using a stamp.
I adhered some sisal fibres to the tag, then added some leaf style pieces of lace  and then some pink lace that I had gathered up in to a rosette.
The flowers were added with some pearl string and curly wire..to finished I stamped the word on spare card and then added it to the tag.
A very simple but pretty Tag....
Do pop along and check out the challenge, there is a prize of some lush papers for our winner each month...you can find us here at

Mini Mixed Media Canvas.

Its time for another challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit...and also introducing 4 new members to the design team...I do hope you will all pop over and say Hello..

My project for May is this little canvas...I have several of  these laying around in my workshop. I happened to see a few that had been decorated online and decided I could do something similar with mine.

I started by winding a selections of yarns, lace and string around the canvas...then added a few beads and a key.
I painted it all with gesso...then used a selection of spray inks for colour.
My colour palette changed the more I sprayed and I finished with a gorgeous purple, blue and gold colour

The crucifix is by Fernli Designs...I applied Purple wax gilding direct to the mdf then wrapped some wire around it and adhered it to the canvas.
It really looks gorgeous in real life and very tactile...

Fancy Case....

It's time for this months challenge over at Altered Eclectics...where did April go?
My project this month is my spectacle case...yes, I am actually using it...lol
I have several pairs for different things, so several cases and as I've never altered one before, I thought I would give it a go.

I sanded the case down and then gave it two coats of white gesso..leaving it overnight to dry completely.
Using pale pink acrylic paint I gave the case 2 coats..due to the lighting, the pink looks more lilac in the photo..in real life its a lovely dusky pink.
I added the trim to the lid, then added the ribbon and pearly gem.
I love they way it looks, not too fussy but still special...
Hope to see you over at Altered Eclectics this month...
