Twins....

I've been meaning to post this Tag for the Tag Tuesday Challenge for the last few days...but I have unexpectedly had to look after my great grandson for a few days...he is still here but sat eating his breakfast, so I thought I'd quickly post my tag.

The theme this fortnight was chosen by Wilma..and she chose Gemini..so anything related to twins.
The first thing to come to my mind was Alice in Wonderlands Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dee...so I managed to source an image of the twins from a movie.
The background of the tag was made from distress inks and stamped images from my stamps.

A New Thing...Artist Trading Coins

A new swap/trade is appearing in groups, on facebook and some blogs...so of course I had to find out more.
I don't know who thought up the idea for this new craze, but I am happy they did...
Artist Trading Coins.
As I have no 2.5" punch and I am rubbish at cutting circles..I ordered some fabulous mdf coins from Fernli Designs. They are perfect..and of course can take any medium thrown at it.

Here is my first ever Atc Coin...this one is made from gray board.

I used backing paper over the coin and then stamped over that..added the image of the little girl and then some flowers. The edges I distressed with ink.

These 3 Atc Coins I have made for a group swap...these are the Fernli Design mdf coins...for each coin I used my own papers that I had used oxide inks on..then added stamped images, the bathing beauty was found in my stash of scraps...
All coins must be 2.5" and really can be made from anything..I prefer the mdf as they are so rigid and will withstand battering during postage...

A Night at the Movies

Tag Tuesday have their current challenge running for another week..and the theme is A Night at the Movies, chosen by design team member Joan
I'm trying to keep active craft wise, but my knee is still painful and it interrupts my concentration quite a lot...but I try and push through because I know how bored I would get if I couldn't craft.

So here is my Movie Tag..I had fun creating this one from a set of stamps from Artistic Outpost..the film strip stamp I used on some acetate and laid that over the image..

Pretty Puzzle Piece

I've been having a play with some large puzzle pieces recently and this the last one that I made...this is for my design team project for this months challenge over at
More Mixed Media.
The theme as always is Mixed Media, with an option of using a colour..and this month the colour is Purple.
After sanding the puzzle piece down I gave it 2 coats of gesso..once dry I stamped the background and image using the masking method.
Once it was dry I coloured the image using Luminarte Twinkling h2o Paints..sadly the lovely shimmer doesn't show in the photo.

I stamped the Femme Fatale and adhered that to the puzzle piece and then sprayed it with a glossy sealer..leaving it to dry overnight.

To finish I add some girlie beads and a hanging ribbon.

Do go and check out the challenge and see what fab projects the other designers have created....you can us find here...

Altered Puzzle Pieces

It's the Ist of the month, so another challenge is starting over at
Rhedd's Creative Spirit.
The design team have created some stunning projects,so I really hope you will pop along and join in with the challenge.
Always Altered Art, Recyled Projects. Mixed Media...anything made of wood, or wood substrate or grey-board...definitely no paper-crafted items.

For my project this month I altered several puzzle pieces, one of which I will be showing in another blog post.
These pieces are large, brightly coloured and were laminated,so I had to sand that back.
I painted the pieces 3 times with gesso.

I inked up the pieces with a selection of colours and then stamped over the whole puzzle piece and left it to one side, while I worked on the next piece.

Using the same inks I coloured the second piece and then used another nautical stamp..this one worked well as I managed to keep the girl image complete.

To finish the pieces I sprayed them with a gloss sealer...added some chains, beads etc from my stash..
