Blooming Lovely...

It's Sunday, so time for another challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art

The theme is "Bloom" and was chosen by Peggy.

So for my postcard I chose to use paper napkins.

I used Oxide Inks and then stamped some script on my blank card to create a bit of background. Over that I used a section of a floral napkin, trimming off the overlap with some fine sandpaper once it was all dry.

Next I added the image of this pretty little girl from another napkin, once all dry I completely covered my postcard in modge podge.
To finish I added the words and distressed the edges in ink
I am really pleased with the way my postcard turned out, even with the few wrinkles in the tissue, this will be one that I will keep as a favourite make.

Any Interest?

I am just popping a post here as I am thinking of setting up a fun challenge blog specifically for Artist Trading Coins ( as pictured in my blog header )

The other option would be for me to see if it would be better to open a group for the Artist Trading Coins on Facebook where I could possibly arrange a swap.

I need to put the feelers out to see how many people would like to participate.

Any feed back would be much appreciated.

Thank you x

A little bit of Steampunk

Time for another challenge over at Tag Tuesday and it is my turn to host it.

My theme this time around is A little bit of Steampunk. At the time of choosing my theme, my head was full of ideas, but as time went on, I kind of lost my ideas, so literally created these 2 tags at the last minute. I shall learn from this..lol.

We usually think of male designs when it comes to Steampunk, so I have made one of my tags more womanly.

This Tag is more male orientated and I had added some hardware.

I do hope you can find time and join in with our challenge that will run for the next 2 weeks.

You can find the challenge here, just click on this link..TAG TUESDAY

Another Black&White + one colour

A tad later than planned, life gets in the way of crafting sometimes,.

My second tag for the current challenge at Tag Tuesday

Valerie chose the theme which is Black & White, plus one other colour.

It's not until you want to take a photo of white on a white background, you realise how hard it is to get a decent photo, especially when the day is dull and cloudy!
Do pop over and join us at TAG TUESDAY

Sweet Cherub

Another challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art started yesterday. This week the theme is Cherubs and was chosen by Amy.

I had a few ideas, none of which worked because the stamp I have of a Cherub is to small for the postcard which must measure 4"x 6".

Then I remembered I had some Scraps and was sure I had some Cherub images in that folder, I did, but only the one design, in two sizes...so I had to go with the larger one for my postcard.

I found some sheets of card that I had designed for another project, but never used, so I cut my postcard from that.

A bit wrinkly, ( like myself ) but solid and lots of layers of paper, paints and texture.

I stamped a few images on my postcard and then added my Cherub.
I think he deserved a crown, so gave him one.
Do pop along and join us if you can, just click on the link below.

Black & White + one other.

 Good Morning Everyone.

I have just realised I haven't posted my tags for the challenge over at Tag Tuesday

The current theme has been chosen by our lovely Valerie, which is Black & White, with one other colour.

I love this theme, although taking the photos with such bad lighting was more of a challenge.

This is my first tag..the other will be posted tomorrow.

I still had this sweet stamp on my desk from another project, so decided to use it for this tag.

Rain...

It's Sunday, time for another challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art

The idea of this challenge is to make your own postcard, it must measure 6"x 4"  and keep within the theme, but you can use whatever medium you choose.

This Sunday the theme is by Ann C. and she has chosen Rain

I have to admit that I was a bit stumped with this theme, until I remembered I had a new raindrops stamp, had it ages but not used it.

So I used distress inks to shade the background, used a stencil for the center of the card, then stamped the raindrops all over.

Next I added the sentiment and then this lovely ballerina, I did shade her tutu and hat slightly with pink distress ink.

Hope to see you join in with this challenge...

You can find it here at SUNDAY POSTCARD ART

The colour option is Red.

Time again for another challenge over at More Mixed Media

You can create anything you wish, so long as it is  mixed media and as always with our challenges there is an optional colour twist, this month the colour is Red.

For my design team project I made 3 Circle Atcs..I do enjoy making this small pieces and will probably used them for a new header for my blog.

My friend recently gave me a bag of stamps, rubber as well as acrylic and in amongst them were some new wooden stamps of Vintage Ladies, also stamps that were ideal to create backgrounds.

I stamped each of the Circle Atcs with the vintage lady stamps and added colour to each image.

I then stamped the ladies again on some spare paper and then cut them out. I overlaid those images over the images on the Atc and added the background stamping ( masking )

To finish the Atcs I stamped the word's on some spare card, trimmed them and distressed the edges with ink and added them to each piece.
Once the glue was dry I sprayed each atc with a sealer, although the shine doesn't show much in the photos.
I do hope you can join us for out challenge this month, there is a prize of some gorgeous papers for the Winner and of course a Winner's Badge, as well as Dt favs etc, so do pop over for a look.

Photo Tag

Wendy has chosen the theme over at Tag Tuesday.

The theme is use a photo...or part of one.

I decided to used one of Tim Holtz photo booth photos. They look so cool and aged.

I used a cream tag and using a stencil I built up the background, then distressed the edges in Frayed Burlap distress ink.
To layer up I used some corrugated card that I have swiped lightly with distress ink.
I added some hessian, a section of negative film and then added my photo.
Adding the string, instead of lace as I felt it looked better against the hessian. I finally added the roses, a section of a broken brooch that was holding a gorgeous brown gem.
You can find the challenge here at

Coffee Stains, it's been a while.

I haven't used coffee staining in my craft work for ages, so it was great for me when I saw Audrey's theme over at Sunday Postcard Art...."Coffee Stains"

I dipped the base of my mug in to some spilt coffee and created a few circles on my postcard. When that was dry I lightly smudged  some Burlap distress ink over the card. Next I used Brushed Corduroy ink through a stencil to create a few dots.

I built up the background using rubber stamps. The image of the girl and the clock were stamped on spare card, coloured and then added to my postcard.

To finished I distressed the edges with Frayed Burlap ink.

I am really enjoying creating my postcards again and so happy that I have rejoined the challenges over at SUNDAY POSTCARD ART.
