Use a Quote

I can't believe its been 2 weeks since I last blogged...I am so busy at the moment, catching up on my design team projects..and I also had my daughter move house..and then I had a nasty fibromyalgia flare up...
I made this Tag for Tag Tuesdays challenge..the theme is "Use a Quote" chosen my design team member Michele.
Michele is offering a prize for the winner of this challenge, so do pop over and check it out...

The background for my tag was created using Oxide inks..the butterfly stamp is one from my stash .
This is one of my favourite quotes..its a stamp by Inkylicious that is from a set...and thinking about it I must have had this set for years..it is well used.

Time Flies....

Crikey..what happened to January, in a blink of an eye it's gone already.....lol
Over at More Mixed Media February's Challenge is now underway...as always it is anything goes..but with an added twist..a colour!  The colour this month is Red...well it is the month for love....
My project is a journal page..now I'm not very expert with journal pages like some folk are, but I actually loved creating this page...

I started by gessoing the page then added a selection of acrylic paints, some diluted down to almost like a wash, I also used a stencil with the paints to add the circles to the page....once dry I rubber stamped the page all over, including the frame...the smaller hearts are also stamped. The flowers and main heart are die cut, the flowers I edged with my white posca pen..the heart I added some decoration in black pen.
Finally I added the sentiments..a set of stamps from Visible Image.
Do pop over and check out our challenge..there is a fabulous prize for the winner each month, so well worth a visit....you can find it here at

A Heart for February

Rhedd's Creative Spirit is back after the christmas break...so nice to get back in to the swing of things..although I was struggling to find my mojo for a while.
I was in my craft room tinkering about, as one does when looking for inspiration...when I came across a set of board hearts that I bought a a craft show about 3 years ago!
I sat at my desk and started messing with inks and stamps and before I knew it I had created a lovely background.

I enhanced the background by using my white posca pen and added dots around some of the larger circles.
I stamped the Listen to your Heart sentiment and added the two mdf hearts  ( from Fernli Designs ) that I coloured.
I finished the whole piece off by spraying with a sealer, which bought the colours up beautifully.
If you fancy a challenge ( no papercrafts )..do pop over and check the blog out...you can find it here at

Steampunkish Monolith

Altered Eclectics is back after the christmas break...seems ages since we last had a challenge doesn't it.
Took me a while to get motivated as my mojo decided to take a break too....
My project for Altered Electics this month is a Monolith..I bought a set from Visible Image last year  but never got around to using them.
To be fair I was struggling at this point, so just got the gesso and acrylic paints out and painted it, hoping something would pop in to my head....

After swiping a few colours over it I ended up with a yucky yellowy mustard coloured background, which to me suited a steam punkish image...so out with my stamps.
I coloured the images with paints...once everything was dry I sprayed with a sealer which has given the Monolith a lovely sheen...so I was pleased with the end result.
