Faces Tag

Michele has chosen the them over at Tag Tuesday and it's Faces.

I am fortunate enough to have several stamps featuring faces, but I have chosen  to use this one because it has had less use than the others.

I stamped the face, then masked it and stamped the rest of the card with a background stamp.
Then I just added colour to the flowers, leaves and lips.
I wanted to keep it simple.
Do pop over and join us, we have another week left for our challenge.

Take a Trip (SPA)

It's sunday, so time for another challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art, the theme this week has been chosen by Peggy...and it is "Take a Trip"

I actually had a few ideas as to how I was going to design my postcard, but in the end I plumped for an old set of rubber stamps from Darkroom Door.

I have only used these stamps a handful of times, so they deserved to be bought out and played with.

I kept my postcard black & white, although you wouldn't think that as it looks rather gray, why is it when you photograph white card it either looks grey of pale blue?
I made a collage using several of the stamps, then stamped the street/area names separately and added them once the postcard was done.
So how many of us would love to "Take a Trip" to the USA, unless of course you already live there.
Do check the blog out, you can find it here at

Purple Paint

Where did May go, last month seemed to fly by didn't it.

The weather seems to be veering more to Summertime now, so less time indoors while we enjoy it.

Over at More Mixed Media the challenge for June has just started.

As always it is anything goes, so long as it is mixed media.

There is a Purple Colour Option, should you want to create your entry using that colour.

I created a Tag for my design team piece, keeping the tag white I used purple distress ink through a splat stencil.
The image of the brush and the tubes of paint were stamped, then I stamped the paints tubes on a separate piece of card, coloured them and added them to the tag using foam pads. Next I coloured the paintbrush.

Finally finishing the tag with the words that I mounted on black card and foam pads.
Do pop over and join in with our challenge, it runs for 4 weeks, plus there is a prize and badges up for grabs.

SPA. Old Book Pages

I love using book pages, so Rosie's theme this sunday over at Sunday Postcard Art is right up my street.

I covered my postcard with a page from The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. I was lucky enough to have found a couple of these books in a charity shop.I bought them because the paper is such a lovely texture, reminded me of the paper I used to use at school, many moons ago ,lol

The images of birds and plants are great too. I used some blossom images from the same book to decorate the postcard.

I made a house using different book paper, stamped the script and the roof and then added the girls.

I added the blossom and a butterfly to finish, finally sealing the whole card with modge podge.

Fruit or Veg

Morning All, very blustery here in my part of the world today, but at least the rain isn't so heavy. I think I'll have a crafting day today, not really going out weather.

I made my Tag for Tag Tuesday's challenge a few days ago, forgot to blog it, naughty me. A great theme by teamie Pinky, she has chosen Fruit or Vegetables for her theme.

Luckily I had this lovely Orange Blossom stamp, I actually bought it 2nd hand from a selling group on facebook quite some time ago, this the the 2nd time I have used it.
I layered the images up to give the tag a 3D look and it seems to have worked out well.
Do pop over and join in with the challenge if you can.

Tea Anyone?

It's been a while since I last blogged, I've been a bit busy with other things, but I made the effort to join in again with the challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art

The theme this sunday has been chosen by Amy, she has made a fab postcard too.

I have got a couple of cup stamps that I thought I could have used, but they really are to small to use on a 6"x4" postcard.

So I sourced a free teacup image from Pinterest (for personal use only) I love the cups!

I started by rubber stamping my blank postcard ( 6"x4" )

I then added the middle layer of a section of a napkin as it had a light image of a couple of flowers. I also added a couple of butterflies from another napkin.

Next I added some textured dots and then swiped over the whole postcard with some white paint.

After drying the paint I very lightly spritzed the card with Raspberry Glimmermist spray, the dried the card again.

To finish, I then added the teacups and words, distressed the edges with ink and once everything was dry I gave the postcard a coat of matt mod podge.

So if you fancy a fun challenge, why not pop over and join in, you can find it here at..

Pretty Pink Makeover.

Do you enjoy Mixed Media...then why not pop over to More Mixed Media and join in with our challenge this month.

As always it is Anything Goes, with an optional colour twist. The colour this month is Pink.

This is my design team piece this month, I chose to alter a reed diffuser bottle.

I loved the chunky shape of the bottle and thought it would look good with a Vintage makeover.

After cleaning the residue from the bottle, I adhered some hessian around the bottle and bottle neck, using hot glue.
Next I added some lace, just slightly wider than the pretty pink floral fabric I used as the last layer.

I wound some twine to the middle of the bottle and also the neck, I found the lovely glass stopper in my stash, it fitted perfectly.

To "pink" it up a little more, I added the bow and attached a resin flower to the centre of the bow.

A couple of Sporty Tags.

Time again for another 2 weekly challenge over at Tag Tuesday

I am hosting the challenge this time around and have chosen the theme of Sport.

When I was younger I enjoyed quite a few sports and up until a couple of years ago I used to go fishing. Unfortunately, now I am older I no longer participate in any sport.

Your Tag can be any type of sport and you can enter as many times as you wish.

Here are my Tags, hopefully they will inspire you to come and join in with our challenge.

I do hope to see you soon over at TAG TUESDAY
