Civil War Altered Tin

PICTURE HEAVY POST.....
Some of you may not be aware that I run an Altered Art Challenge Blog....Rhedd's Creative Spirit.....something that I had wanted to do for a very long time.3 months ago I took the plunge and created the blog and I am so pleased that each month there has been  a few more entries. All the feed back and comments have been positive and I am so thrilled that so many people are so supportive. I have a small, but brilliant design team that work alongside me and they really are a wonderful bunch of girls, not to mention talented.
We have just launched our 4th Challenge. As always it is an "Anything Goes" challenge "Altered Art Only" and I do have a prize each month for our winner.
As owner and Head Teamie, I have made this as my design piece for May's Challenge...hope you like it..

All the stamps used are from the American Civil War set by Oxford Impressions.....the photo stamps are just amazing, all I had to do was to age them slightly around the edges.
The lid of the tin was gessoed and then grunged using a couple of stencils, dried then sprayed with Glimmermist Sprays.
We do have a wonderful sponsor for this challenge...
                              FERNLI DESIGNS
and they are offering our winner this fantastic box of wood shapes, so many pieces in there, some you can use as stand alone pieces and some you can use for mixed media etc.
I have many pieces from Fernli Designs myself and can vouch for their quality and customer service, such lovely people.
                                            Fernli Designs

Hope you can find time over the next 4 weeks to pop over and enter the challenge which you can find here, but remember  altered art only.
I'm entering my Altered Tin in the the challenge over at  Altered Eclectics

What an awsome little memory box! I like the dimensional treatment on the lid, the colors and the civil war images. It's somehow close to me, though I'm german and actually don't have any connection to that war. But some time ago I saw the documentation of ken burns - so sad and also so impressive! Your work reminds me of this - very nice job!
