Huckleberry Finn Door Stop.

I decided to alter a door stop for the challenge this month over at Artistic Outpost..I do love their challenges, as well as love their stamps.
So I rooted around in my stash and found the bundle of door stops or as some people call them, door wedges, I bought yonks ago..only to find several of them hadn't been carved on the shoulders..so out of the four I only had two that I could use..that is so annoying.

First I gave the Door Stop a coat of gesso, then painted it blue..which I didn't like, so gave it 2 coats of white acrylic paint.

Once that was completely dry I stamped on the front and the sides using the Huckleberry Finn stamps by Artistic Outpost.

I used the long strip that said Huckleberry Finn and wrapped and pressed it on the knob of the door stop....all stamps were stamped with Stazon Black.

I coloured the main image on the front with water colour pencils and then blended them with a paper stump, just to take off some of the grainy look.

I inked the edges of the doorstop with mahogany distress ink and then sprayed it to seal it with Crafter's Companion spray and shine..once the first coat was dry I then gave it another 2 coats...
I made a tag and added the script from the same set of stamps...I actually sprayed that too and once everything was dry I finished it all off by tying around the top with bakers twine.

In the above photo you can just about see the shine..unfortunately the photo doesn't do it justice...
There are still a few days left of the challenge..why not pop over for a look..you do need to use there products though..
