Reversed Canvas

Yay...Rhedd's Creative Spirit is back with their first challenge for 2019.
As always it is anything goes..but must be Altered Art, definitely no papercrafted items.
My project this month is a 5"x 5" (12.5 x 12.5cms) canvas that I reversed.

I reversed the canvas and sanded the inside edges of the frame, painted it all over with acrylic paint.

I also painted a square inside the canvas and attached a brass steampunk style clock.
I rubber stamped Dream and a Code Number then used some bronze guilding wax and rubbed that in to some areas of the frame.

Next I added the embellishments that I had previously painted, crackled etc.
Once all the elements were glued in place I added the Tim Holts ancestor image.
To finish I added finally some "rust "patina for effect.

I do hope you drop by Rhedd's and take part in our challenge...you can find us here at

You nailed it Sandie. Ador the way your little gentleman is perched on the twisty metal. Your embossing is fab too!

I like the steampunk look to this.

I always love the blue and the metallic patina, and this is a canvas full of interesting details, also behind an intriguing grid... fantastic!

LOVE this Sandie! The patina/rust effect is always a winner in my book, and this just works for me on so many levels! x
