In to the "Dark" again....

Well, I know this theme is a bit unusual for me, but I wanted to enter the challenge over at Dream in Darkness again.
This time I am entering something that isn't digital, it's an altered piece, the wood is in fact a rubber stamp block. I had so many rubbers stamps on wood that it got difficult to store them, also I noticed some of the wood warped and some impressions weren't complete, so I took the stamps off the wood and use them with an acrylic block, successfully stamping every time. Of course the blocks are perfect for recycling... I've used the larger block, it's the one standing up, for my project here.

I painted the block twice in black acrylic paint and while it was drying I created the scene.

Using thick white card I created the yellow moon using mustard seed distress ink...then coloured the rest of the card using chipped sapphire and dusty concord distress inks.

The trees and branches are from a stamp set by Creative Journey and the sentiment is by Inkylicious. Stamps, they have some really fabulous sentiment and verse stamps.
To finish I added the birds in flight and as I write I just can not bring to mind what stamps they are, although at a guess I think they are from a set by Tim Holtz.

To finish I then adhered the scene to my painted block...I am actually really pleased with this and I'm going to be keeping it for myself,lol...
So if you like to take a walk on the Dark Side, why not pop over to Dream in Darkness and have a look at their blog and challenges.
