As always the theme is Anything Goes, so long as it is Altered Art/Mixed Media...definately no paper-crafting.
Here is my design team project, which I hope will give you some inspiration to enter the challenge....
I've had this fabulous large chunky wooden heart in my workshop for well over a year, was never sure what I was going to do with it, it was one of those spur of the moment buys, lol.
The Nautical theme hit me one day when I took my great grandson out for a stroll in his pram, I ended up overlooking our beautiful bay and I could smell sea...had a flash back to when I was a small child collecting shells on the beach...
The whitewashed background was all that was needed as the base, which I distressed around the edges with dried marigold ink.
I stamped the Paperartsy stamp in coffee Archival Ink and mounted that on some dark brown card.
Using a hot glue gun I added some hessian and scrim and some shredded orange netting.
To finish I white washed some small pieces of driftwood and tied them off with sting...added the star fish and a selection of shells,
I've now got this hanging in my bathroom......

Love your nautical heart here Sandie.. It looks beautiful even with out the blues!
so so COOL!!!!!!
This is soooo gorgeous Sandie! I'm totally in seaside mode, so perfect timing too, lol. And those shells are just gorgeous.
I think I have about a dozen hearts in various shapes and sizes waiting for inspiration, teehee. x
That's where I would like to be today Sandie...at the sea, it will be wild and huge! I love that stamp and combining it with the shells and the heart is perfect!
Sandie I just absolutely love everything you create and this is no exception. I love the color scheme you have used and achieving the seaside feel without using green/blue - love it xx
Really great. My daughter would love this at their beach house. Love the colors. j.
