Cute Tags

Over at Tag Tuesday Pinky has chosen Anything Christmas for her theme.

It just so happens that I made several Christmassy Tags to tie on to the presents for the little ones in my family.

I used the Hare Stamp from Crafty Individuals, the stamp was actually given to me. I love the Hares wearing their party hat.

I coloured each a different colour using watercolour pencils, also shading in around the nose, feet and tail, then distressed the edges in ink.
Just added an eyelet to each tag with some gold thread and they were done.
Hope you manage to find time to join in with the challenge.
You can find us here at

My Angel

I'm a tad late entering the challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art this week. I've had a few errands to do and a meet up for a coffee.

The theme this week is Angels and was chosen by Sabine.

My postcard is digitally created using a snowy photo taken quite some time ago by a friend, which I overlaid on a photo of some spare card ( cut to the required size of 6"x 4" ) that I had used with Oxide inks.

The berries are from Serif Craft Artist.

On top of that I overlaid the music sheet, finally adding my Angel.

All in all I am very happy with my postcard.
I am in the middle of finishing another Angel Postcard, something that kept me occupied when I couldn't sleep...
Do pop over to the challenge and join in if you can, just remember your postcard must be 6"x 4".

S for Seaside

Hello, it's bit chilly here this morning...and I have to go out, would rather stay home, but need to go to the post office, so I'll be wrapping up warm.

Just a quick post to add a tag to my theme over at Tag Tuesday...Use the first letter of your first name.

The image is from a stamp by Our Daily Bread, I love this stamp and it was perfect for my theme.

Do pop over and join in with the challenge if you can, there is still time to play along.

Last Challenge for 2021

Well, this is the last challenge for 2021 over at More Mixed Media...it is also my last project for the blog as I have decided to take more time out for myself.

You will also notice that our boss lady Lozzy is going to take a break with More Mixed Media for about 6 months, I will not be returning as a designer, but hopefully will enter a challenge or two when the blog returns.

My project this month is a journal page.

I stumbled across these gorgeous Apple napkins and just had to use them for my page.

I randomly stamped some images  before swiping over with gesso.
I added the napkin once it was dry
Using more stamps I added a few numbers, sentiments and  bees on top of the napkin and also stamped some script and dots in white ink.

Finally I placed the children, I coloured the girls dress and shoes.I also coloured the boys shirt in pale blue, but the photo just doesn't show it.

I just love how this page turned out, it actually looks better than the idea I had in my head, lol.

I hope you can pop over to More Mixed Media and join in with our last challenge, as always it is anything goes but with a colour option, the colour option is white.

Traditions at Sunday Postcard Art

I was invited to host this weeks challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art  this week.

My theme is Tradition

The definition of a Tradition is a custom or belief that is passed down through the generations or that is done time after time or year after year.

An example of a tradition is eating turkey on Thanksgiving or putting up a Christmas Tree.

My Tradition is Afternoon Tea

Here is a bit of info related to Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea was introduced in England by the seventh Duchess of Bedford in the year 1840.
The Duchess would become hungry around 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
The evening meal in her household was served fashionably late at 8 o'clock, thus leaving a long period of time between lunch and dinner.

I think Afternoon Tea is still a tradition many of us still follow, maybe not eating much, but if you are like me, a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a biscuit goes down well around 4 o'clock.

I would love it if you could join in with the challenge with your choice of Tradition.
Your postcard must be 4" x 6", you can use any medium.
Have fun and I will pop over to your blog and leave some love.

S for Sandra?

Time again for another challenge over at Tag Tuesday and this time around I am hosting and have chosen the theme "Use the First Letter of Your First Name"

I have created 2 Tags using the letter of my first name...Sandra = S

My first tag is a Sewing theme, I rubber stamped the images and added them to my tag.

The tag was cover in some instructions paper from a vintage pattern, which had aged nicely.

For my 2nd Tag I created this one Digitally, not the best at digital stuff, but I think this one turned out quite well.
I've named it Snow Queen.

The background of this tag I used a photo of a snowy hedgerow that I tweaked digitally.
Then I added the Snow Queen, a free image shared by June Macfarlene. She has a page on facebook where she often share images to use for free.

I hope there will be many entries for this challenge, it will be interesting to see what them you choose with your letter.
You can find the challenge here at TAG TUESDAY
Have fun everyone...xx

Anything Goes Tag

Just dropping by to share my Anything Goes Tag for Tag Tuesday

The theme this time around was chosen by our lovely boss lady Valerie.

I'm just skidding in towards the end of the challenge, I just don't know where the time has gone, although to be honest I have been out and about a bit more recently.

I've opted for a narrow Tag that I collaged with different scraps, added a stamp, label and this fab passport style photo.

There is still time to enter this challenge if you want to play along.

You can find us here at TAG TUESDAY

Windows, Doors & Arches

Good Morning to those that have dropped by, as always it's so nice to get visitors to my blog.

My post this time is to share my Tag with you.

The theme was chosen by teamie Wendy over at Tag Tuesday, Windows, Doors, Arches.

I love the theme, so I was pretty determined to make a Tag, even though I'm not feeling 100% well just yet, getting there though after being in hospital and diagnosed with a heart condition.

I used a large white tag that I coloured using distress ink.
The Door/Arch stamp was actually one that was given to me by a friend, she was having a de-stash, unfortunately there was no packaging with it and she couldn't remember who it is made by, but it is perfect for Wendy's theme.

I stamped the door and surrounding arches and bricks and coloured them in, from my own stash I found a stamp for the greenery and added some red dots for flowers.
The 2 girls are from Tim Holtz, I coloured them slightly to make them stand a bit more.
Do pop over and join in the challenge if you can.

Black Colour Option

I was tidying an area of my craft room when I came across a canvas board. I had cast it aside after making a mistake with it, but it was too good to throw away.

The board measures 5"x 7". I had previously added texture to it and I had painted it in several shades of green.

So all I did was to paint the whole piece black to tie in with this months colour option.

I gradually built the canvas up using burlap, pieces of distress papers and one of Tim Holtz relatives. I love the image of this young boy.

I finished the canvas by adding clips, a piece of a black leather belt and a couple of buttons.

You can find our challenge here at MORE MIXED MEDIA.

All Hallow's Eve

I'm a little behind in posting my Halloween Tag for Michele's theme this fortnight over at Tag Tuesday.

I had a health issue crop up which put me in hospital for a couple of days, just trying to settle back to some sort of normality now.

I coloured my tag with distress inks and then stamped the images from several different stamp sets.

I shaded the pumpkins, grass and skulls and added glitter to the eyes and the tops of the pumpkins, then added a little round sentiment tag on a chain.

Do pop over and join is if you can, also take a look at Michele's fabulous tags that she has created.

Colour Challenge

Good Morning Everyone, just popped in quickly to post my Tag for Pinky's challenge over at Tag Tuesday.

Pinky has chosen a colour challenge, Orange & Purple.

I created my tag using stamps and distress inks and pens.

I did make my Tag a few weeks ago ready for this challenge, but due to my holiday and a few health issues that are ongoing I completely for got to blog it.

Pretty Gift Bag

Time for another monthly challenge over at More Mixed Media. The challenge starts the 5th of each month and is always Mixed Media, but with an optional colour twist and this month the colour twist is Orange.

So for my design team project I decided to decorate a gift bag.

I layered up the front of the bag using backing paper and card.

I then added my stamped image that I had coloured and trimmed with lace and orange ribbon.

I was lucky enough to have been given this stamp by a friend who recently had a de-stash of her craft items. I was delighted as it really is such a sweet image.

To finish the bag, I added some orange ribbon and lace bits to the handle.

You can find the challenge here at MORE MIXED MEDIA....hope to see you there.

Asemic Writing

 Good Morning All...

Sunday Postcard Art have just launched this Sunday's Challenge and the theme, would you believe, I had to find the meaning for it from Google.

Asemic writing is a wordless open semantic form of writing. The word asemic means "having no specific semantic content", or "without the smallest unit of meaning". With the non-specificity of asemic writing there comes a vacuum of meaning, which is left for the reader to fill in and interpret.)

The theme is ASEMIC WRITING was chosen by Marion.

I really didn't know what this type of script was called, yet I've seen it used so many times, now I know I shall no doubt use it more often in my craft work.

My postcard was layered up with paints, then stamped.

The Asemic script was written using posca pens.

I wasn't sure if I added enough script and several times thought about adding more, in the end I left it was it was originally in case I messed it up,lol.

Using Book Pages

Tag Tuesday have just launched this fortnights challenge....and it's me that chose the theme.

I love using book pages in my projects, always great to use for building up backgrounds, even if you paint over them, they add bulk and texture to most projects.

So here is my first Tag

For this tag I actually covered my page in a book page and then stamped over it using an IndigoBlu " Bubbles" stamp.
I coloured some of the circles then added white dots using a posca paint pen.
I selected a couple of Tim Holtz papers dolls for this tag.

For my 2nd Tag I just added strips of book pages after stamping the tag, then just distressed the edges in yellow ink.
I used sisal fibres and a collection of flowers to make a topper, adding the key and butterfly as extra embellishments.

I do hope you can pop over and join in with our challenge, you can find us here at

Recycle or re-use

Tag Tuesday still has another week left for it's challenge.

Valerie chose the theme this time around, which is Recycle or Re-use.

A great theme and I think most artists can always recycle and re-use plenty of things found around the home, office or craft room.

The most fun part of recycling for me in my craft room, is using up old birthday and christmas cards, cereal and other food boxes and clothing tags, using them for postcards, tags, journalling, journal covers, atcs, the list is endless.

Cards are my favourite items to use to make Tags, they usually have quite thick smooth card...which is what I used for this challenge.

I die cut the tag from an old card, purely because I like this section of the glitter, only realising afterwards that I cut the tag upside down, although I don't think that matters much.

I found some lilac paper in my stash that I stamped over to make a grungy background as well as some script and used that to cover the printed section of the tag.
I added part of a feather, then the dancing girl after shading her dress pale pink.
I found a couple of sentiments to tie in with the girl dancing.

This tag will be tied to my friend's gift as her birthday is coming up in a few days time, I wonder if she will notice the tag is part of a recycled birthday card.lol..
Do pop along and join in with the challenge, you can find it here at Tag Tuesday

Steampunk Board

Time seems to be flying by, in to September already and cooler weather with it too!

Over at More Mixed Media, Septembers challenge has just started.

As always it is anything mixed media, with an optional twist of using the colour brown.

For  my design team project I decided to alter a chopping board, Steampunk style.

I painted the board with acrylic paints in brown and orange, then swiping some of the paint off with a baby wipe. Once dry I used inks and a clock stencil to create the background.
I sorted through my stash for a clock, a few cogs, swirls and googles, painted them and dabbed them with some rust patina

I assembled all the pieces then added this lovely gent to sit on the clock.

A Shell in your Pocket

Tag Tuesday still has a week left of their challenge.

The theme, chosen by design team member Wendy is Shells.

Here is my tag....

I have used stamps from Crafty Individuals and Artistic Outpost and the shells are from my stash, along with the orange mesh that was holding my oranges.
You can find the challenge here at Tag Tuesday

Giraffe Postcard

It's sunday, time for another challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art

The theme this sunday is Giraffes, chosen by Rosie

A few weeks ago, I went to the zoo with a couple of the younger members of my family, they were totally in awe of the Giraffes.

They look so majestic, although I don't like to see animals in captivity, I do understand the need to keep certain species going, far to many animals have become extinct.

Don't you think Giraffes have the most amazing eye lashes.....

Here is my postcard, a digital piece this time.

The images are from Songbirdy, over at Mischief Circus, which is sadly closing down on 12th September.

Games

Time again for another great challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art.

The theme "Games" was chosen by Peggy.

For my postcard I used a fab set of stamps from Darkroom Door.

I've had these stamps for quite a few years....and you can still buy them. Have to admit they are a lovely set and just perfect for my postcard.

Blue & Orange Masculine Tag

Michele has chosen the theme for Tag Tuesday Challenge, Blue and Orange.

She has made some fabulous tags too, very feminine, whereas mine is masculine. I admire the feminine feel using these colours, but I just could not create anything other than a masculine theme with the colour combo.

It's weird how colour often dictates which way we go creatively, it can throw me off completely sometimes.

Here is my Tag, I have used Tim Holtz stamps and die cut.
I just love the sentiment, it's so true...
You can find the challenge here at Tag Tuesday.

I am entering my Tag in to the challenge at More Mixed Media...Brights.

Old Age.....

It's all been a bit of a rush, having fallen behind with my craft projects recently as my home decorating is occupying most of my time.
The theme over at Sunday Postcard Art is very apt for me at the moment as I am definitely feeling my  age whilst I am decorating, lol.
The theme "Old Age" was chosen by this weeks host Marion. I just had to find time to join in because I had the perfect stamp, one from years ago that has only seen the daylight two or three times through lack of use!

You can find this challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art.

Bright Bubbles...

It's the 5th of the month, so time for another monthly challenge over at More Mixed Media.

As always it is Anything Goes, but with an optional colour twist, this month the twist is Brights.

We also have some fabulous digital papers for the Winner, plus a badge...and badges too for our Top5 from our Boss Lady Lozzy.

My design team project this month is a large tag, that I stamped all over with IndigBlu's bubble stamp.

I coloured random bubbles with pens and dotted a  few with posca white pen.
The figure is a stamp by Dina Wakley, which I left black and white to stand out from the background.
The sentiment I created and printed off and then added to my Tag.
I love this Tag with its bright colours, it actually matches the vision in my head when I thought about the bright colours, lol.
I hope you can find time to pop along and join in with our challenge, you can find us here at

My Floral Tag

Over at Tag Tuesday Pinky has chosen the theme, Floral/Flowers and I had just the stamp for it too.

Over a white tag I stamped my images and just gently coloured in random leaves and flowers.

I also stamped separately a section of the stamp so I could cut and create a small posy to add to the tag.

Showing the posy...

Do pop over and join in with our challenge if you can, it still has another week to run.
You can find it here at Tag Tuesday.

Tears of a Clown

Susan B has chosen the theme this week over at Sunday Postcard Art

Well, the theme got me thinking, I was going to go with the lyrics of the song and build around that or use a Pierrot image and build around that...lol

I also decided to do a digital postcard, as I have mentioned before, I'm not that great at it, but the more I do, the more I learn, hopefully.

As you can see I decided to use Pierrot....

I tweaked around with the colour palette and eventually chose this one as my favourite.

Klimt Postcard Again

Just dropping in to share my 2nd digital postcard that I created for Sunday Postcard Art.

Rosie chose the theme "Klimt" and although I had every intention to create my postcard with a stamp, I just couldn't find it!

For this postcard I used the Painting and photo of Adele, but also added the Tree of Life as an overlay.

Had fun with this and Rosie's theme took me out of my comfort zone, lol.

You can find the challenge here at Sunday Postcard Art

Klimt at Sunday Postcard Art.

A tad early for me today, but I haven't been having a very good night's sleep recently, doesn't help when you have had a couple of busy days.

Over at Sunday Postcard Art Rosie has chosen the theme "Klimt"

I was hoping to get my postcard done in time for sunday, but life gets in the way sometimes, lol.

So here it is, a digital creation this time. I'm not that good with digital works, I just like to dabble now and again.

To be honest, somewhere in my stash I have a rubber stamp of Klimt's "Death, I call it the skull man, the stamp is by Cherry Pie Stamps, but as alway when you want something, you can never find it.

The images I have used here are Adele, the famous painting, but overlaid with her photo.

I do like the way the postcard looks, I have another that I created, but will pop that in my next post.
Do pop over and check out the challenge, you can find it HERE

Children Postcard

The heat here is suffocating me today, so I went down in to my garage where it was nice and cool and created a postcard.

I've been absent from Sunday Postcard Art for several weeks now, my mojo has been on a "go slow"

The theme this week is Children and was chosen by Amy, do pop over and have a look at her fabulous sample.

I cut my postcard from a mood board I made sometime ago, I gessoed over it and then covered it with a lovely "Birdhouse" napkin.

The child images are by Tim Holtz, at first I just added the 2 girls, but then decided to add the lad, who looks super cool leaning on the fence around the birdhouse.

I added the sentiment and I was ready to go and take a photo.

Do pop over and join us, your postcard must be 4"x6"...check out the entries too, some awesome creations there.

The blog is here at Sunday Postcard Art

Music/Musical Tag

As a Team Designer over at Tag Tuesday it was my turn to chose the theme, so I have chosen Music/Musical, so anything from songs to instruments, Operas and Concerts too.

I think Music plays an important part in our lives, most of us have that one favorite tune that evokes memories. Music cheers you up, makes you want to sing along or dance, you can even exercise to music, so I do hope you will find this theme one that you can join in with.

My tags were created using a selection of free stamps that have been lurking in my craft room for a while, so my theme was a good excuse to use them.

As soon as I stamped the white tag, the shoes struck a cord, with Elvis Presley's Blue Suede Shoes. Just that simple image made me sing the song, lol.

I hope you will join us at Tag Tuesday

I even added a vintage stamp....

Puzzled..

It's July already, where did the last few months go, this year seems to be going by so quickly.

The 5th July see our monthly challenge get under way over at More Mixed Media

Our challenge is all about Mixed Media and if you chose, you can use our colour option, which is Pastel.

There is a prize on offer, as well as the blog badges, so do pop over during the next 4 weeks.

For my design team project I chose to alter a large jigsaw puzzle piece. I was fortunate to get a bagful of these pieces from a children's floor puzzle in a charity shop.

There are fun to do, as it's summer ( or supposed to be,lol ) I went with a beach theme, hope you like it.

A Tag, on a Tag

Good Morning Everyone, I am back after having a few, much needed days away. The weather was incredibly hot, now I am home it's raining...and cooler.

Time now to get back in to crafting

Wendy, over at Tag Tuesday has chosen Tag on Tag as her theme for the challenge this time around, so I have made mine using a Sewing theme.

As you can see, the lighting wasn't good when I took my photos, the tags are a light cream colour, lol.

Do pop over and join us if you can, we are here at TAG TUESDAY

Faces Tag

Michele has chosen the them over at Tag Tuesday and it's Faces.

I am fortunate enough to have several stamps featuring faces, but I have chosen  to use this one because it has had less use than the others.

I stamped the face, then masked it and stamped the rest of the card with a background stamp.
Then I just added colour to the flowers, leaves and lips.
I wanted to keep it simple.
Do pop over and join us, we have another week left for our challenge.

Take a Trip (SPA)

It's sunday, so time for another challenge over at Sunday Postcard Art, the theme this week has been chosen by Peggy...and it is "Take a Trip"

I actually had a few ideas as to how I was going to design my postcard, but in the end I plumped for an old set of rubber stamps from Darkroom Door.

I have only used these stamps a handful of times, so they deserved to be bought out and played with.

I kept my postcard black & white, although you wouldn't think that as it looks rather gray, why is it when you photograph white card it either looks grey of pale blue?
I made a collage using several of the stamps, then stamped the street/area names separately and added them once the postcard was done.
So how many of us would love to "Take a Trip" to the USA, unless of course you already live there.
Do check the blog out, you can find it here at

Purple Paint

Where did May go, last month seemed to fly by didn't it.

The weather seems to be veering more to Summertime now, so less time indoors while we enjoy it.

Over at More Mixed Media the challenge for June has just started.

As always it is anything goes, so long as it is mixed media.

There is a Purple Colour Option, should you want to create your entry using that colour.

I created a Tag for my design team piece, keeping the tag white I used purple distress ink through a splat stencil.
The image of the brush and the tubes of paint were stamped, then I stamped the paints tubes on a separate piece of card, coloured them and added them to the tag using foam pads. Next I coloured the paintbrush.

Finally finishing the tag with the words that I mounted on black card and foam pads.
Do pop over and join in with our challenge, it runs for 4 weeks, plus there is a prize and badges up for grabs.

SPA. Old Book Pages

I love using book pages, so Rosie's theme this sunday over at Sunday Postcard Art is right up my street.

I covered my postcard with a page from The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady. I was lucky enough to have found a couple of these books in a charity shop.I bought them because the paper is such a lovely texture, reminded me of the paper I used to use at school, many moons ago ,lol

The images of birds and plants are great too. I used some blossom images from the same book to decorate the postcard.

I made a house using different book paper, stamped the script and the roof and then added the girls.

I added the blossom and a butterfly to finish, finally sealing the whole card with modge podge.

Do pop over and join in with Rosies theme, you can find it here at
